Search more than 11,000 registered tadika & taska in the CariSchool directory. Type a school name, a KPM school code or a JKM registration number.

Type at least 3 letters.

Why it matters

A taska (childcare for children under 4) must be registered with the Social Welfare Department (JKM) under the Child Care Centre Act 1984 (Act 308). Registration is valid for 5 years, and since 1 January 2025 the registration number must be displayed on the premises.

A private tadika (ages 4 to 6) is registered with the Ministry of Education (KPM) through the State Education Department, and must follow the national preschool curriculum (KSPK).

Registered centres are monitored and inspected by those agencies. Unregistered centres are not. That is why registration is the first thing to check, before fees or location.

4 steps to check registration

  1. Ask the school for its registration number. A JKM-registered taska has a number like B/TI 011/2022: the first letter is the state code (B for Selangor) and the last part is the year. A KPM-registered tadika has a school code like B5A3108.
  2. Look for the number at the premises. A taska must display its registration number. Check that the name and address on the certificate match the centre you are visiting.
  3. Search it on CariSchool. Use the search box above. Each school profile shows the registration number we hold and, for a taska, its JKM registration expiry date.
  4. Confirm with the official source. For the official answer, go to the agency itself:

Official links checked on 16 October 2026. Agencies sometimes move their pages.

Warning signs

Note: "in progress" is not automatically a bad sign. New schools do have to wait for approval. Ask when they applied and when they expect approval.

What CariSchool shows

We cross-check the directory against the official KPM and JKM lists regularly. Where the data doesn't add up, the profile says it needs re-verifying rather than guessing.

Frequently asked questions

Does every taska in Malaysia have to be registered with JKM?

Yes. A taska must register with JKM under the Child Care Centre Act 1984 (Act 308). Registration is valid for 5 years, and since 1 January 2025 the number must be displayed on the premises.

How do I check if a private tadika is registered with KPM?

Ask the tadika for its KPM school code, then search it above to see the code we hold. For official confirmation, KPM's private kindergarten check page asks you to register as an e-prasekolah user at smpk.moe.gov.my.

The school isn't in the search results. Does that mean it is unregistered?

Not necessarily. New or renamed schools may not be in our directory yet. Ask for the registration number and check it directly with JKM or KPM.

Is CariSchool an official government website?

No. CariSchool is an independent directory, not officially affiliated with KPM or JKM. The official answer always comes from those agencies.
